Zarch Collaboratives, together with branding and interior design firm Asylum have transformed a former spice warehouse in Singapore’s Robertson Quay into a boutique hotel with 37 rooms.
Built in 1895 the heritage building is located in an area described as what was once a “hotbed of secret societies, underground activity, and liquor distilleries”. Known locally as ‘godown’, The Warehouse Hotel sits alongside what was then a busy and important trade route of the Singapore River.
Inside, a modern interior incorporates industrial style textures with luxe finishes in reference to the building’s rich history. In the lobby, an installation of wheels, cogs, and pulleys are suspended above the hotel's entrance. Warm textures and mid-century furniture adds comfort throughout.
Loft-style suites are minimalist in design and feature open, built-in storage, for similar try Urban Grain Interiors Limited. A wall hung mirror, for similar try The Den & Now. And contemporary furniture with blackened metal outline, for similar try Urban Metalworks. Original steel trusses frame the double height space.
