Founded in 2006 by Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi, Le Labo, or, The Laboratory, sought to disrupt the fragrance industry, creating a cult collection of artisanal perfumes and hand-poured candles.

Located at 120 North 6th in Williamsburg, this Brooklyn boutique, as with all Le Labo stores, has been conceived as a fragrance lab. Albeit open to the public, Le Labo, Williamsburg offers customers an immersive experience with the possibility to touch and smell raw materials. Once a scent is selected, service attendants hand-blend the fragrance to order before completing it with a personalised label.

Inspired by apothecaries and working dispensaries, the interior of Le Labo, Williamsburg is a collision of exposed brick and unfinished tiling punctuated by the brand's edit of unique fragrances. Trough style hand basins and industrial style filing cabinets are selected with purpose. Partnering with local coffee craftsmen, La Colombe the hybrid space also features a popular coffee shop.

An icon of the fragrance industry, Le Labo’s core collection features 17 unisex perfumes and 9 soy-based wax candles. Its olfactory offerings are at once luxurious and unconventional. Known for its intoxicating aroma of spicy, leathery and musky notes, Santal 33 has reached cult status. And with stores in cities from Sydney to Seoul, it is a scent smelt the world over.
